Adore you. I have no kidlets and it's been a nightmare of a summer. With kids I think I'd feel like I'd been put through the paper shredder. And it isn't only GPs experiencing compassion fatigue - they just don't study women and mums because they don't care to know. But we care, and we know x
I felt exhausted just reading this. You are doing a fabulous job. You’ve hit the nail on the head with all the behind the scenes stuff. It’s so exhausting but we see you and we love you 🩷
Darling Sarah I am IN AWE of you 😍 Seriously. What you're doing is nothing short of BLOODY BRILLIANT! I know it might not feel like it but it is. Sending you tons of love 💖
Another wonderful newsletter, thank you lovely Sarah! Although, am I the only one who thought you were referring to your mum in the first sentence 😂 it hooked me in that’s for sure, I wondered what on earth she’d been up to 😂
I think reading this, (and as someone with fibro and chronic fatigue, and had a very very busy London life beforehand)….all I kept thinking was, I hope she’s able to give herself some compassion.
You don’t sound ungrateful, you sound like someone who has articulated how so many parents feel. We are exhausted. The invisible load is something that can’t be explained, unless you’ve experienced it.
Many moons ago, naively, I’d be the first to internally roll my eyes when a parent would say things were hard, and now I think…oh my goodness! It really is!!
I think I make up for it, by being a Doula and supporting people through life’s biggest transitions. We all need help and society, especially in the UK is so bad at helping mothers/parents/carers/those who need it most.
It sounds like you’re having a few transitions in life, so go really easy. A burnt out mother will have a ripple effect for the entire family. You deserve to look after yourself ♥️
It’s really hard. Let’s just normalise that. Parenting is hard. And you are amazing xx

You might not be down the pit but at least they had time to their selves down the pit 🤣🤣

Trying to go places with even one kid is a lot. As is organising one birthday party. Bravo to you. Please have a rest if you possibly can! Xx
